OK...I'm finally getting back to this.    Who played the lead on the recording....was this Nokie?   It did not seem like Bob Bogle style to me.

I tried working this out in a few different positions (around the 4th fret, around the 12th fret, with some open strings)   but have settled on the tab below. This sounded the best to me and for me was the easiest to play.     I welcome any corrections or improvements.

At some point I'll work out the backing guitar parts....but for now this is what I have.

The Instrumental "Tara's Theme", is a composition by Max Steiner. It is the main theme music of the 1939 movie "Gone With The Wind".
Lyrics by Mack David were later written for the theme, and a vocal version presented as "My Own True Love", was released by Margaret Whiting in 1948.
The most popular vocal version, again as "My Own True Love", was recorded and released by The Duprees in 1962, and reached #13 on the Billboard Top 100 Chart.

As for The Ventures recording... No, this is not Nokie Edwards playing lead, and it's not Bob Bogle either. It's Don Wilson!
There is no "rhythm guitar", but there are backup fills, and because of the use of the vibrato(whammy, lever), I'm sure that is Bob, with Nokie on bass.

The arrangement of the 2 guitars was very likely included in the repertoire from the time when Don and Bob performed as a duo.

That's interesting.    I just never think of Don playing lead.     A nice surprise.   Like the rare occasions when you see them singing.
