Ten Seconds To Heaven
« on: August 02, 2013, 11:52:33 pm »
Hi, I tried to follow the prompts for new users, but was redirected to some Amazon irover site, so I came here, which is where I really wanted to go.

Anyway, let me just say that I've seen The Ventures twice and the last time I saw them, they were kind enough to give me their guitar picks after finishing a song.  I will cherish those forever!

Now that I'm retired, I've started playing a Fender Strat and love to play Ventures songs.  One that eludes me is Ten Seconds To Heaven.  I've figured out some of it, but some of the rifts, I just can't figure out.  If anybody can help, even an incomplete tab might help.  There's nothing on YouTube.   :(

I found this. Hope it helps.                                                        Dm7          G9                    CM7          CM7/6
Take my hand,    I'm a stranger in paradise,

Dm7          G9           Fm               CM7             CM7/6
All lost in a wonderland,    a stranger in paradise.

            Dm7        G9                       CM7     CM7/6
If I stand starry-eyed,     that's a danger in paradise

     Am6         Dm7         Fm    G9         C
For mortals who stand beside   an angel like you.

Bridge:

           G#7            C#
I saw your face, and I ascended

            Bm6       C7          Fm
Out of the commonplace   into the rare.

              E7             A
Somewhere in space I hang suspended

         Dm7            G9        CM7
Until I know there's a chance you care.

          Edim        Dm7          G9                  CM7       CM7/6
Won't you answer the fervent prayer   of a stranger in paradise?

                  Dm7         G9                 CM7          CM7/6
Don't send me in dark despair    from all that I hunger for,

               D7       G9                      Em7          Edim
But open your angel arms    to this stranger in paradise

                 Dm7         Fm    G9          C
And tell him that he need be    a stranger no more.

Although the words and music are credited to Robert Wright and George Forrest, the song is based on a theme by Alexander Borodin in "Prince Igor."

Thank you very much for your reply.  While this will help with the rhythm guitar part, what I'm looking for is the lead guitar as played by the Ventures.

Thanks,

Carlos

I've studied that video over a hundred times and I'm stumped at the rift he plays 41 seconds into the video.  Can anybody help with about the next 15 seconds that follow?
