Well, that was a lot of fun, wasn't it? So wonderful to see everyone who came again, meet some new friends and miss folks from last year who couldn't come this time. All my friends who came along to perform with me had a great time, and they've all decided to come next year and, since Lawrence of Arabia got so many kudos, bring more jazz-fusion-funky Ventures songs.

We never did have a complete rehearsal. But we had fun. Hope you all enjoy them. One more thing. I play the first four songs on my Baritone (B-B) Strat, on which everything is out of position. For some inexplicable reason, I immediately start playing out of position, even for it. I know I'm up a fret, but literally can't make myself stop until the second verse. Poor Bob; he looks over to see what I'm doing wrong, but where my fingers are don't match what he's hearing, and even when I get in position, it doesn't look right. Then it caught me out at least twice on every song I played it.

That's the last song we played. I'm doing what I should have done when I was 13 or 14, and playing just about as well. Actually much worse than the day before, which is still not very well. But I had a blast. Hope you enjoyed my public band debut.
