Their music is featured all the time in novelas (prime time soaps) and in news broadcasts as background music (uncredited).  No one here seems to know who they are till I play Hawaii Five-O.  I do wish they'd put together a package and market it here, demographics have changed here markedly since 1986 - a real untapped market!

The travel and tourist industry made a big change in recent years - no more blonds used in advertising!  They are using native persons and trying to be realistic in portraying Brazil to the average international tourist.

I think any of The Ventures older 70's stuff with the pretty girls would really work - today it would be unique and different, which is exactly like The Ventures music!  I have to admit, the pretty girl worked for me back 40 years ago.

I've listened to the Latin Album, they did "Brazil" very nicely, but should try to get it less disco sounding.
They can also cover groups like Kleiton & Kledir, Mutantes, MPB 4 and Tribalistas (Velha Infância - my favorite).

The new re-imagined Hawaii Five-O is doing that I think.  The music in the series is so far away from old stereotypes, refreshing!
Still, would love seeing an episode featuring The Ventures (as they are), maybe a Christmas special?
