DEL HALTERMAN
« on: April 07, 2015, 03:06:39 pm »
Member Dennis Cote from Newark, Delaware informed me late this
past Saturday night that LONGTIME VENTURES FAN Del Halterman,
shortly after a weekend gig on March 29th had a heart attack.   He's
currently awaiting bypass surgery at an Edmonton, Alberta hospital
in CANADA.

To this point in time, many of Del's friends have voiced their support
for 'full recovery' on various facebook pages & forums dedicated to THE
VENTURES, specifically ours & Underground Fire 2.

Walt & I continue to work towards gettin' additional 'related' information-
exact hospital name & address, room # & direct phone line.   Be patient.

In the meantime, feel free to enter your thoughts here or on any of the
other mentioned avenues.

I first met Del on the 2003 VENTURES CRUISE with LOS STRAITJACKETS.
Here & elsewhere he's been thanked countless times for being the 'greatest'
author ever in our eyes- simply 'cause he penned WALK, DON'T RUN- The
Story of The Ventures.   At this 'most critical' time in his life, let's provide all
the kind words & encouragement we can 'muster up' to help a dear friend pull
through this battle!

Let's hear it for Del many times over!

I had a triple bypass in 1999, changed my life too, for the better.  Think of it as a tune up and oil change! I never had an attack, but my doctors at the time told me I would have not survived if I had one.  Do what the doctors say, exercise modestly and you will be back on top, full recovery!  Walk, don't Run, as they say.  The hardest thing at first is to NOT sneeze!

My thoughts and prayers are with Del for a full recovery.  He's one of the fans' most direct lines of communication with Don Wilson and, as we all know, author of the official Ventures biography "Walk Don't Run: The Story of The Ventures."  He's also an active member of the Underground Fire online fan club, of which I'm also a member.

Here's wishing Del all the best.
