The sound was great walt. That camera does a wonderful job and the video pics where sharp in detail. I thought that was Klink back there. Johnny Cash the man in black.

So this was a bowling alley? I trust you got some cash for the gig and maybe some free bowling time?

General Discussion / Re: Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special
« on: August 30, 2013, 09:30:55 am »
Henk, Walt,

I purchased my Jazzmaster Classic Player a few months ago from Sam Ash.  I traded some gear for it. My only dissapoinment with the guitar was that the frets stuck out from the fret board. Not the best for moving your hands around. I spent a few hours sanding them down to where I wanted them and have had no problem with guitar otherwise. I love the sound and the action. You'll have a tought time finding a hard shell cass for the Jazzmaster but they are on ebay from time to time.

The only other problem was that they only had 1 guitar in their store to try. Sure they will order one for you but I don't know how many time they'll take a exchange if you don't like it before you find one that you like.

Some 33rpm record players, such as Bang and Olufsen have a dial so that you can speed up the or slow down the rpm's. Always worked for me when playing with the Ventures albums.

My wife and I just made a donation to help Nokie overcome his medical expenses. Would ask all to contribute what you can. Nokie has given us such great music and inspiration throughout his life. Let's "lift where we stand" and help this man.

Great news Tom and thanks to you and Walt for all your hard work on the recording  and duplicating of our historic jam session. I'm looking forward to my copies and I'll break out a bag of popcorn and enjoy the music many times this winter.

Tom here is my report from last week, also included your email listings.

I like the idea of "The Most Iimproved Player/Players " Award, and also possibly the "Best Song of the Day" award, which I would pick the jam of "Hawaii 5-0".

My wife enjoyed the day, especially since there was music being played, by "LIVE" musicians the entire day, even while food was being prepared.

I would also suggest contacting a Philly, or New Jersey, or New York sales rep for "Vintage Guitar" magazine and invite them to come next year. They usually take some pictures and publish them with a storyline in a later issue. They set up a table and will sell the magazine and take subscriptions. A great read every month for me.

What about possibly having Bob Spalding contact his friends at the "Rock and Roll" Hall of Fame, and suggest they hold the event in Cleveland sometime in the future? Just a thought.

Had a great time and made many new friends.

I wrote a review last week.

I know Grant, from the Picnicks, is not connected to the internet, does not have a cell phone or a computer. Maybe, having everyone's email address Tom, perhaps send an email to all attendees.
