GWG was "bowled over" by the chance to play here on 12/20/13:  http://bowlhighwood.com/

We played 2+ sets in 2.5 hrs and the time flew by 4 sure:

Congrats Walt on the 'new' lineup.

Kinda reminds me of when THE VENTURES
played at Asbury Lanes in New Jersey.   Not sure
what the date was but people were bowling while 'the
guys' just went 'bout their business & never missed a lick
the whole night.

Was your experience similar?

I'll get 'round to listening to everything.
First four were right on!

Thanks for the kind words, Tom.
We could only hear the bowlers between tunes so we were neither deterred nor distracted.
There's a few mistakes here/there but overall the performance is good.

We're satisfied w/the new lineup.  Only Joe Klink and me are "original" GWG members but sonically I think we're better than we've ever been.  Roger (the tall guitar player), Bob (no, his last name is not Bogle) and Forrest (the drummer) are experienced players and we're fortunate to have landed them.

Can't see Forrest for the Tall Trees and where's Klink. Lost in the Shadows?

Rich- That's 'cause Walt 'needs to be' out front.
He was 'burying' Joe & 'the other guy.'   If
possible, they should alternate on
occasion.

And I am 'truly sad' 'bout this turn of events!

Guys....
the cam HAD to be stage LEFT so peepols woon't trip over it.
If the cam were correctly centered, everyone could be clearly seen.  I DID NOT readjust the cam for recording in low light conditions.  Unlike like our I balls, it is too stupid to compensate for the BRITE lites at the front of the stage compared to where Bob (left) and Joe were.

Also, Joe was wearing a black shirt and black pants.  That's another reason for his "invisibility".
:-)

Also, Gilbert was busy taking pix and was only available to start/stop the cam between songs.
All we were looking for is a good video record of the event, which we got.

Multicam angles would be nice as well (as they would be for the FanFest), but it ain't gonna happen.

Tom, I don't understand the following comment.  Please Xplain:

You're explanation put everything
into 'perspective' nicely!

Now you know 'exactly' how I felt being
the only guy' handling everything at the
fest.

Not possible to be in 'two places' at once.
(referring to Gilbert)

The sound was great walt. That camera does a wonderful job and the video pics where sharp in detail. I thought that was Klink back there. Johnny Cash the man in black.

So this was a bowling alley? I trust you got some cash for the gig and maybe some free bowling time?

Rich

Well, there's certainly nothing to be sad about, Tom.  With all the upheaval GWG has had over the past 12 months, we've managed to not only keepit 2gether but also hone our craft further.

Rich knows he's welcome to join us for a guest appearance whenever.
In fact he did that for a private party that we played in September.
For the 12/20/13 gig we just played, I had to learn all the lead toons he played.  I barely managed.  The man has big shooze to fill. ;D

GWG has also expanded its repertoire to include some Xciting Los Straitjackets toons such as Pacifica and JetSet with more to follow.  We're all Xcited about learning NEW material.

Joe Klink (rhythm geetar) is the 2nd original GWG member.  He continues to enjoy playing the music and does his usual solid job floggin' out the chords.

Forrest, our drummer, joined us in Feb. of 2013 and learned all our material quickly and plays it with the energy/enthusiam that our original drummer did 20 years ago.

Roger, (2nd lead player) joined us in June 2013 and already knew much of the material and brought us the new material of the Straitjackets.  He's learned the toons we play that are new to him in a just couple of months.

Bob, our new bass player has been playing w/us for only 2 months and has done a remarkable job of learning our stuff.

I can't thank everyone enough for their hard work and dedication.

I'm looking 4ward to playing more gigs with these seasoned pros.  Kudos to all!
Rock on, Boys.

But, twasn't about the $, was about Xposure so maybe we'll get more gigs.
