It 'certainly appears' as tho some of the above
review is missing.   I'm 'just dying' to see 'the
rest' of it!

Welcome aboard Bob-

Co-moderator Tom here.   Enjoy all the site has to
offer & feel free to weigh-in on any topic.   Better
yet- why not create one for others to weigh-in on.

I'm sure your buddy Walt will be welcoming you with
'open arms' as well shortly!

Longtime Ventures fan STEPHEN PEEPLES uploaded 'full video'
of this wonderful presentation to YOUTUBE (4/16/18) for fans 'The

Longtime Ventures fan STEPHEN PEEPLES uploaded 'full video'
of this wonderful presentation to YOUTUBE yesterday (4/16/18) for
fans 'the World over' to view.   It's 'so moving' throughout- heartfelt words
from dozens mixed amongst many musical tributes from his peers.

I 'initially' placed the link below but for some reason it didn't bring up the
video.   Until myself or Walt can figure that out- be advised that the link is
posted on my 'regular' facebook pg. (Thomas Baltaeff) or if you prefer using
YOUTUBE search, simply type in-

Ventures Fan Fest / 2018 INTERNATIONAL FAN FEST
« on: March 25, 2018, 06:20:46 pm »
This will be our TENTH year holding the event & last year,
we used the heading FANS OF THE VENTURES on the front
of the keepsake 'commemorative program!'   Planning to do
the same this year.

The theme for the gathering come October is:
NOKIE EDWARDS REMEMBERED.

Hopefully, many of you were able to catch 'the current lineup'
on tour in late January or more recently over a mid-March
weekend in Utah.   Now's the time to get behind 'the guys' &
help them continue the legacy of THE VENTURES.   During the
recent tour, a couple penned articles appeared locally.   'Great
reading' on both, chocked full of direct & sincere remarks from
Bob Spalding & Leon Taylor.   The best line went something like
this:   "We plan to stick as closely as possible to the DYNAMIC
SOUND co-founders Don Wilson & Bob Bogle 'perfected' early on,
then nurtured throughout five decades!   We're aware that even
some of 'the stalwart fans' have made remarks stating 'there are
no original members left' & that 'at this point, they're a tribute
band at best' but we don't see it that way- we want to continue
the legacy of THE VENTURES MUSIC!"

Have been told by The Ventures booking manager- Ryan Greenblatt
that they'll try to 'tie-in' a fest appearance with another batch of East
Coast concert dates.  We can only keep our fingers crossed & hope it
becomes reality!

In closing, please consider joining us for this rip-roaring (12) hour event
celebrating the 'infectious sounds' of THE VENTURES, offered up in tribute
by some of their biggest fans.   Cover charge for the day is $60 & includes
breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Below is this year's version of the FEST ID CARD!

Good point- perhaps The Ventures individual
players talents were taken for granted all those
decades- Don's unique rhythm style, Bob's lead bass
approach & Nokie's ability to handle any genre on lead!

As you infer, in 'plenty of cases' regarding the arts,
praise seems 'grudging,' until they pass on & then
everyone seems to come out of the workwork!   It
certainly seems to be the case here!

Yes sir- you are absolutely right.   Nice to see.   'Most likely'
the first of many.   Billboard also ran a nice article titled 'the
(10) most influential Ventures songs!'   I posted it to my regular
facebook page!

& having attended two concerts myself, I managed to upload
quite a few video clips of the new lineup on YOUTUBE- tab11balt11.
The 'almost full show' at last check had rec'd over 6,000 plays in less than
a month- pretty amazing.

Thanx so much for posting this Walt.

I feel as tho since late last year, the writing seemed to
be 'on the wall' as complications from surgery in Dec.
first reared their ugly head.

Seems as tho the site has been forgotten of late.   Now
that THE VENTURES have started workin' again in The States,
I for one expected quite an uptick in posts in '18.   I'm still waitin.'
C'mon- let's get behind 'the new lineup' & really hop back onboard this
'continuing legacy' quest since Don Wilson retired a few years back.   I'm
sure more than a handful of our members have had the thrill of catching a recent
concert or two, yet there are no reviews here.   I know 'you guys' have got it in ya!!!

Thanx for posting Walt.   My guess is that other clips will surface
on YOUTUBE as the tour progresses.   I plan to give taping 'the
old college try' during both shows later in the week.
