Have had a tricolor (blue-silver-red) Hallmark Custom 60 for a while, but it's no Mosrite - not by a long shot in terms of sound.  IMHO, the Japanese copies come closer to the real thing.  The Custom 60's bite is too metallic, and equalization doesn't quite fix it.  All said, the wider necks help and shielding is great. The overall build quality is great for the price.  Had bought this from the Hallmark site and called Bob to have white PU rings on the black PU housing.  I often wondered how the Hallmark will sound with Mosrite PUs but never tried switching.

Yes! Life gets shorter everyday! Ha! Can't worry about that!---And I really could splurge for a Hallmark.
With the assortment of stuff I've already accumulated, my folks would have the option to open a museum when I'm gone.
