I like this version as well..... nice production and nice playing as well.

all info here on Wiki- Mike Maxfield was the lead player on Cruel Sea(a.k.a Cruel Surf)- he usually used Guild guitars- I think the lead lines on the instrumentals may have been doubled with piano by George martin at Abbey Rd studios

There was a Dakotas EP with Cruel Sea, Magic Carpet, The Millionaire and another track I forget!- Sorry!

A lot of UK guitar instrumental bands used to cover Cruel Sea- I think the record MAY have been speeded up, as the tempo is very difficult to maintain playing it live!
