I have two...one I bought from Nokie's personal collection, and one I ordered new through him.  They are both superb guitars, with a unique sound not found elsewhere.  Playability is as good as I have found in over 40 years of owning, and tinkering with guitars.  The woods and craftsmanship in the Japan-built models are excellent; however, I understand Nokie is moving production back to the US, so quality is likely to change...for better or not is yet to be seen.

Anticipate a long wait...  I ordered my quilt maple model two and a half years before receiving it...in the interim, I bought Nokie's personal guitar...a prototype of the tremolo model.

Hope that helps!

Many may not know that Nokie Edwards' HitchHiker Guitars actually consist of three categories:

1)  Electric (Made by Jackson Custom Shop & Rock Creek in the US and now Aria Japan)
2)  Acoustic with pickup (Made by Santa Cruz)
3)  Nylon Classical with pickup (Made by Canadian Luthier; Roger Stuckless)

I will post some information at "Desert Surfer's Ventures Guitars" soon...

Hope you guys will join in the conversation.

There's also 3 diffrent briges....the original (probs w/1st/2nd strings including breakage), the improved (one that I have) and the current one that's on the Aria models.  Mine is cereal no. 0004 made by Fender/Jackson.  It had the original brige and I sent back to Nokie and he installed the replacement brige.  It's worked good ever since.

Mine is No. 002. Not sure what bridge is on now. It's Nokie backup guitar.  Don't know he changed it or not. I did not play too much with it and no problems discovered yet.  The guitar is in storage now, I wont find out until my house is sold and moved to the smaller place.  It may take a long while. (keep my fingers cross)

Thanks for the good tip, though.

Yeah, my neighbor sold hers in 3 days.  I think people want to get the best deal before the interest rate goes up.

That's why we are rushing to remodel the house now. It took me a few days to put all my guitars in storage.  :(

Sorry Strat59, we hijack your posting and get into chatting.....  I will stop right now.   :-[
